Licensed Psychologist
For most of my professional life, I worked at Minneapolis Community and Technical College as the founding director and teacher of the Human Services training program. It was the "perfect job" for me.
However, I have had a lifelong interest in spirituality. I joined a spiritual training program at Sancta Sophia Seminary, a modern day "Mystery School," which offers study in ageless wisdom, esoteric/mystical Christianity, and great world religions, to help me in my personal quest. The program broadened my outlook and fostered a focus on spirituality rather than just religion. After ordination in 1990, I continued the work I loved at the college for several more years.
A life-threatening health crisis shifted my direction, and I felt called to organize a new type of church – an interfaith church. In 1999, I founded Spirit United Interfaith Church, where I served as minister until 2005. As we searched for "new wineskins" for our church, I found that esoteric teachings brought new life to old understandings. While serving at Spirit United, I created many courses, lectures, and events in esoteric studies.
Since retirement from Spirit United, I've enjoyed a period of writing and reflection. Now I am eager to resume the teaching I've enjoyed for much of my life. I think the development of the soul offers our greatest test - and our greatest hope - for the challenges we face today. I founded Quest ~ Sophia School of Wisdom to provide hope and help for others on their spiritual quests. I look forward to meeting you and sharing our collective insights and stories.
