  1. Aslan Institute is named after the lion in the Narnia Series by C.S. Lewis, because the lion is the symbolic representation of the transcendent, enlightened or resurrected state of consciousness. The lion is a solar symbol of light, power and wisdom and both Christ and Buddha have been referred to as lions. In the Hindu tradition, too, the lion is the symbol of divine energy.
