Ryan Drewianka, MA, LPCC

Ryan specializes in helping adult children of narcissistic parents as well as those with anxiety challenges, such as low self-esteem, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and "not-good-enough-ism."

Background

You love your parents, but as you’ve grown older and more independent you’ve been tickled by the feeling that maybe their love for you as a child was conditional; you had to “earn” it by behaving a certain way. If you didn’t follow the unwritten family rules then you got punished somehow. Growing up with a narcissistic parent has led you to live in disguise - you've created a sense of self that suited the parent, not you. It's time you take off that disguise and learn what it feels like to live as your true self. You deserve a life where you can be authentic with others, enjoy deep connections, and seek your own purpose.

I help adult children of narcissistic parents make sense of their family and their upbringing. This allows you to grieve a childhood you weren't allowed to have. With that understanding you can become empowered to forge your own future, focus on your own needs (not your parent's), and live a life full of meaning and authenticity.

This type of therapy affirms your symptoms but digs much more into the core of your wounding. Only here can you stimulate long term healing. Don't get me wrong, this is incredibly difficult work! But I will be here to guide and support you as you explore your inner world. Plus, it won't all be doom and gloom - we'll find things to laugh about along the way!
